Data Protection and Freedom of Information Guidance

Questions about the Data Protection Actshould be sent to the Information Commissioner’s office. The Information Commissioner (ICO) produces detailed guidance which provides organisations and individuals with all the information they need to know about the Data Protection Act. The ICO has legal powers to ensure that organisations comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and can take action against organisations that misuse information about you.

Questions about Freedom of Information affecting UK, English, Welsh,or Northern Ireland Public Authorities should be sent to the Information Commissioner’s Office. If the public authority you want to make a request to operates only in Scotland then your request will be handled under the FOI (Scotland) Act for which the Scottish Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcement
