The M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section) (Mar Dyke Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975 and the M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975, Variation Scheme 1991

Coming into force 8th October 1991

    The Secretary of State makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16and 326 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers:
        1.    The M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section) (Mar Dyke Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975[3] is hereby varied so as not to apply to the special roads given the reference numbers 1 and 4 in the Schedule to that scheme, the road given the reference number 1 being the northbound slip road.
        2.    The M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975[4] is hereby varied so as not to apply to—
       (a) the Motorway, southwards from the northern end of its junction with the northbound slip road; and
       (b) that part of the Motorway which consists of the southbound carriageway, the adjacent hard shoulder, and verge thereto, between the northern end of that junction and the southern end of its junction with the southbound slip road;
    and in this article, "hard shoulder" and "verge" have the meanings respectively given in regulation 3(1) of the Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) Regulations 1982[5].
        3.    In this Scheme—
      "the northbound slip road" means the slip road from the northbound carriageway of the Motorway at Junction 30;

      "the southbound slip road" means the slip road from the southbound carriageway of the Motorway at that junction; and

      "the Motorway" means the M25 Motorway.

        4.    This Scheme shall come into force on the 8th October 1991 and may be cited as the M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section) (Mar Dyke Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975 and the M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975, Variation Scheme 1991.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Scheme)
    This Scheme deletes reference to two slip roads in the Schedule to the M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section) (Mar Dyke Connecting Roads)Scheme 1975, and to a length of Motorway and a length of carriageway in Schedule 1 to the M25 Motorway (A13 to A12 Section and Connecting Roads) Scheme 1975.
    Accordingly, each of those slip roads ceases to be, and each of those lengths ceases to be part of, a special road, but remains trunk road.
