HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND AND WALES

The A41 Trunk Road (Detrunking of Slip Roads between the A41 and the A51, Chester) Order 1995

Made 25th May 1995
Coming into force 28th June 1995

    The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as The A41 Trunk Road (Detrunking of Slip Roads between the A41 and the A51, Chester) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 28th June 1995.
        2.    In this Order:—
       (a) "classified road" as a classification for a highway means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purposes of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
       (b) "the A41" and "the A51" mean, respectively, the A41 Trunk Road and the A51 Trunk Road at Vicars Cross,, near Chester;
       (c) "the plan" means the plan numbered HA10/1/CNW351 marked "The A41 Trunk Road (Detrunking of Slip Roads between the A41 and the A51, Chester) Order 199" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3PY.
        3.    The slip roads described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the Plan shall each cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which this Order comes into force.
