The Naval Medical Compassionate Fund (Amendment) Order 1995

Made 26th July 1995
Coming into force 1st December 1995

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 26th day of July 1995

Present,

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1 of the Naval Medical Compassionate Fund Act 1915[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Naval Medical Compassionate Fund (Amendment) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st December 1995.

        (2)  In this Order "the Standing Orders and Regulations" means the Standing Orders and Regulations for the Constitution and Government of the Naval Medical Compassionate Fund, approved by Order in Council dated 28th July 1915[2].
    Amendment of the Standing Orders and Regulations
        2.    The Standing Orders and Regulations shall be amended as follows—
       (a) for Article 2, there shall be substituted the following Article—
              "2.    The President and the other Trustees of the Fund shall be appointed by the Admiralty Board of the Defence Council. The Admiralty Board shall also appoint persons to fill any vacancies among the Trustees. Each appointment shall be made in writing, and shall be on such terms and for such period as the Admiralty Board may decide." ;
       (b) in Article 5, for the words "the Trustees provided for in article 2", there shall be substituted the words "the persons who are the Trustees of the Fund for the time being";
       (c) in Article 11, for the words "an Officer appointed by the Medical Director General (Naval) from among the Officers serving on his staff", there shall be substituted the words "appointed by the President of the Fund from among the Members of the Fund";
       (d) for Part II of the Schedule, there shall be substituted the following Part:
