FIRE SERVICES

The Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1995

Made 9th August 1995
Laid before Parliament 11th August 1995
Coming into force 1st September 1995

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18(1) of the Fire Services Act 1947[1], after consultation with the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st September 1995.
    Amendment of the Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Regulations 1978
        2.    The Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Regulations 1978[2] shall be amended by substituting for the words "Drill Book" in paragraph (a) of Part II of Schedules 1 and 2 the words "Training Manual".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations amend the Fire Services (Appointments and Promotion) (Scotland) Regulations 1978 by substituting for the references to the Fire Service Drill Book, in the provisions in Part II of Schedules 1 and 2 relating to the conduct and organisation of drills as part of practical examinations for promotion, references to the Fire Service Training Manual (which is replacing the Fire Service Drill Book).
