NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Special Health Authorities (Amendment) Regulations 1998

  Made 29th June 1998 
  Laid before Parliament 30th June 1998 
  Coming into force 21st July 1998 

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 126(4) and 128(1) of, and paragraphs 12(c) and 16 of Schedule 5 to, the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations: - 

Citation and commencement
     1. These Regulations may be cited as the Special Health Authorities (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force on 21st July 1998.

Amendment of the Prescription Pricing Authority Regulations 1990
    
2. After regulation 8 of the Prescription Pricing Authority Regulations 1990[2] insert the following regulation - 

Amendment of the Dental Vocational Training Authority Regulations 1993
    
3. After regulation 7 of the Dental Vocational Training Authority Regulations 1993[3] add the following regulation - 

Amendment of the Microbiological Research Authority Regulations 1994
    
4. After regulation 7 of the Microbiological Research Authority Regulations 1994[4] add the following regulation - 

Amendment of the National Health Service Litigation Authority Regulations 1995
    
5. After regulation 15 of the National Health Service Litigation Authority Regulations 1995[5] add the following regulation -

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations make amendments to regulations concerning the membership and procedure of certain Special Health Authorities to provide that they must hold a public meeting at which their annual report is presented.

Regulation 2 amends the Prescription Pricing Authority Regulations 1990.

Regulation 3 amends the Dental Vocational Training Authority Regulations 1993.

Regulation 4 amends the Microbiological Research Authority Regulations 1994.

Regulation 5 amends the National Health Service Litigation Authority Regulations 1995.
